Harness the power of your imagination in this workshop dedicated to sci-fi, magic realism and fantasy writers with Afia Atakora (author of Conjure Women).

Learn the craft of pushing your writing beyond perceived limits to unlock your imagination and to explore how far your writing can take you. In this three hour workshop you will work with a critically acclaimed author on what it takes to create believable worlds and characters of sci-fi, magic realism and fantasy. Your work will be closely critiqued by the tutor and you will be able to share some of your writing with participants during the workshop. The facilitator will be announced shortly, until then please take a look at the application form to apply for a place.

This workshop is presented by Africa Writes and Pa Gya! A Literary Festival in Accra.

Structure of workshop:

The workshop will be delivered via Zoom and will last three hours (14:00 – 17:00 BST / 13:00 – 16:00 GMT) including breaks and time for you to write. You will need to have a computer or smart device and a reliable internet connection in order to participate. This is a live event, which will not be recorded.
