The Magic of Stories Family Workshop

Join storyteller Mara Menzies to discover the magic and mysteries of African stories.
In this interactive family storytelling workshop, you will experience unusual sounds and play exciting games. You will have the chance to learn about the many uses of the Kanga (colourful African garment) and what a calabash is made from, create beautiful music with the mbira and unleash your imagination to create remarkable stories!
Drop in places are limited to 40 people per workshop and allocated on a first come, first served basis. The sessions are run in partnership with the British Library.
Mara Menzies is a Kenyan Scottish storyteller based in Edinburgh. She is passionate about sharing stories from her cultural heritage.
This event is free and open to all and will take place in the British Library Learning Centre, Lower Ground Floor of the Main Library Building.
