Warsan Shire in Conversation Event Cancelled

Warsan Shire in Conversation, the headline event of Africa Writes 2018 (postponed to 21 January 2019) has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Warsan Shire is currently recovering from a serious health issue and will not be able to attend. She has sent the following message:

“With deep regret, I will not be able to attend The Royal African Society’s Africa Writes reading at the British Library in January due to ongoing health issues and personal circumstances. I was really excited to read in London again and hate to let you all down.

I look forward to rearranging for a future date and hope to be seeing you all as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and support, I appreciate it so much. Thank you to everyone who has sent warm messages. Sending you all much love going into the New Year.”
