The prizewinning Congolese storyteller Kama Sywor Kamanda has made a unique contribution to world literature in French. He has written a dozen anthologies of poetry, several hundred stories, four novels and three plays. His imagery is drawn from African traditions and mixes the fantastic and the real, conjuring up bright sunlight, dark forests, warriors, princess and fearful monsters. We discuss his volume of enchanting tales for all ages and two beautifully illustrated books for children. Chaired by Alastair Niven.
